Responding to the needs of our times

'Say hello to Sister for me'

Kabat_Mary_Sister_2009_100pxYou write me notes, "say hello to Sister…" which I am happy to do. Here are four Sisters you may want to send your own personal greeting. At this time Sister Louise Hunt, Sister Alice Mae Malliet, Sister Mary Grace Peters and Sister Mary Audri Tlachac are receiving long-term care in local nursing homes. We know they would be happy to hear from their friends and former students. If you would like to send them a card or note, send it to my attention and I will hand deliver it for you.

We are grateful for the professional and compassionate care our Sisters receive and for the many ways we can remain involved in their daily lives.

Thank you and God bless!
Sister Mary Kabat, Development Director

We are often asked, "Where are the Sisters nowadays?" Our Sisters, six of whom are in their 90s, continue to joyfully live our mission which asks each of us to "compassionately respond to the needs of our times through education, healing and related ministries that uphold human dignity, pursue peace, and promote Gospel justice."

Our Sisters and Associates are active in a variety of ministries at numerous locations across the Green Bay Diocese. We are eternally grateful to God for the gift of serving! It is a joy and priviledge to "wash the feet" of others. More ...

Even as a little girl, Sister Mary Grace wanted to be a Sister. She warmly recalls her attraction to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross and how her life as a Sister has been fulfilling. (length: 2 min.) See more of our videos on YouTube.
