GREEN BAY, Wis. (Feb. 20, 2012) - What could a person with a physical disability teach you?
"Learn From Me, Not Just About Me," a presentation to be led by persons with disabilities and those who serve them, will be hosted by the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the Motherhouse, 3110 Nicolet Drive.
Panelists will include persons who depend on a wheelchair for mobility to those who have no visible sign of a disability. We seek to learn how persons are often marginalized and to honor and value differences. The event is free and open to the public, and is part of the Sisters' ministry outreach to people who are marginalized.
Established in 1881, the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross serve people in the Diocese of Green Bay by compassionately responding to their educational, health care and other needs. The Sisters are rooted in the Cross, Sacred Word and Eucharist, and they value simplicity, hospitality, and prayer.
